Buy-Low Trading With DMX

Dynasty Trades using DMX

Trading is one of the most fun aspects of owning a dynasty team. Dynasty trades are more important than redraft trades because if you trade away the wrong players it could haunt you for years. If you pick up the right players it can turn your middle of the road team into the dynasty you always hoped to achieve. The Dynasty MetriX (DMX) database goes back to 2001. While it includes many players that have already retired, it also includes every player that is still playing.

A strategy that I've begun to use with DMX is reviewing decile 1 players chosen in the last few years who have depressed values but still have high potential. My goal is to buy low into those players and see if they bloom late and provide true decile 1 performance. This strategy really has very little downside risk. If you buy low and he doesn't work out, you have not mortgaged your future to pick up the player. If he does start to perform you have a buy low performer to add to you recent high draft picks and high performers. It's a great depth play too.
